Hot summer temperatures call for adventures where you can feel refreshed and feel Slovenia to its fullest. Visit Postojna Cave, the biggest Slovenian tourist attraction and one of the world’s most stunning karst caves. When you begin your approximately 2-hour guided tour, which you can enjoy in 4 different languages (and 15 languages through audio guides), you will first feel a light breeze on the ride on the 140-year old cave train which takes you deep into the underground world. Later you will walk around the magnificent stalagmites and stalactites and at the end come to the Concert Hall. There, an aquarium is waiting for you to see the endemic creature of the cave, the human fish (olm). Since January, one of the olms has been thrilling the world with a newborn batch of “baby dragons”.

In the Gorenjska region, and only 30 kilometres from Ljubljana, the European Green Capital 2016, explore the town of Kranj. Take the Old Town Tunnel Tour which takes you to the artificial underground facilities, whose original purpose is now lost in time. During World War II they served as an air raid shelter, but they have now been transformed into multi-purpose halls. In the 1300m-long tunnels, you can see real stalactites and interesting cave animals and enjoy an exhibition of minerals and fossils, as well as a simulation of the WWII shelter during an air raid.

Feel the summer in green, active and healthy Slovenia!
