Tourism panel “Safety and Sustainability in Tourism” at BSF

We invite you to mark the date 6th September for attending the tourism panel within the framework of the internationally-recognised Bled Strategic Forum (BSF). The panel is entitled “Safety and Sustainability in Tourism” and will take place in the Conference Hall of the Grand Hotel Toplice. Listen to the thoughts of prominent representatives of Slovenian and global tourism, especially Taleb Rifai, the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organisation.

In recent times tourism has depended heavily on global security. Tourists need assurance of safety at every step they take – safe purchases, safe trips, safe accommodation, safe food, air and water, and a safe environment. The key threats in 2016, namely terrorism and the surge in migration, are serious challenges to global security and tourism. Moreover, the concept of sustainability is more relevant than ever as, in addition to political consensus, balancing the environmental, social, economic and climatic aspects of life is essential for ensuring safety and successful development of tourism.

Take part in the Tourism Panel on 6th September in the Conference Hall of the Grand Hotel Toplice. It supplements the content of the Bled Strategic Forum by seeking answers to the current challenges in connecting global tourism industries. This year`s tourism panel is entitled "Safety and Sustainability in Tourism". We are proud to inform you that Taleb Rifai, the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organisation, has confirmed his participation as the keynote speaker.

In the light of Ljubljana being the European Green Capital 2016 and the host of Global Green Destinations Day, which is being held in Slovenia this year, tourism and sustainability experts will help us answer questions about global security challenges and finding sustainability in the tourism industry.
