After many years of work and field research carried out by the Commission for Cycle-Touring of the Alpine Association of Slovenia, the 1800km-long circular Slovenian cycle-touring trail has officially opened. The route comprises all the major Slovenian mountain and hill ranges and passes about 50 mountain huts or check points. Join the ambassadors of the trail, Pia Peršič and Andrej Martinčič, who will cycle the whole tour, starting on 18th July and ending around 1st September.

Next to hiking, cycling is one of the most popular activities in green, active and healthy Slovenia. On road, off-road, around the hills and vineyards, forests, rivers and lakes or on top of mountains, the diverse terrain has now been connected into an 1800-km long circular Slovenian cycle-touring trail. It is designed for a wide range of biking enthusiasts, who can experience the diversity of our cultural and natural heritage by overcoming kilometres and altitudes. Experience Slovenia on a bike!

The first two cyclists to go on the six-week cycling adventure are the ambassadors of the trail Pia Peršič and Andrej Martinčič, who you can follow on the Facebook page “S kolesom Na Turo” (On Tour by Bike). They started at Brežice in south-east Slovenia and are following the Slovenian cycle-touring trail in an anti-clockwise direction around Slovenia. Join them on a cycling adventure!
