Carousel of fun in Slovenian Istria

Summer is coming into its second half, but events in Slovenian Istria have no end in sight. Enjoy the carousel of events in Piran, Portorož and Izola.

Summer is coming into its second half, but events in Slovenian Istria have no end in sight. Piran will be marked by the Tartini Festival, and Portorož has been preparing for the traditional “Portorož Nights” and a performance by Slovenian musicians. In Izola, visitors can enjoy the biggest Fish Festival.

August brings a wide range of events to coastal Slovenia. The Piran Summer Festival, between 1st and 16th August, offers 16 evenings of music, dance and ballet performances. The Tartini Festival in Piran will hold seven concerts between 20th August and 5th September, while 10th August is marked by the beginning of the Portorož Nights, which will reach their peak on 13th August with a performance by popular Slovenian singer Jan Plestenjak and midnight fireworks.

On 19th August, visit the biggest festival in Izola, the Fishing Holiday, which has been held for more than 40 years. From 25th to 27th August, enjoy the Blues’n’Rock Festival, which will end with the refreshing Izola Beer Fest, where you can taste different varieties of beer.

This year`s novelty in the coastal town of Piran is guided tours of the town, the Piran walking Tour, which takes place every morning and evening. In 90 minutes, local licensed guides show you all the important and hidden corners of the town. Piran also celebrates the 120-year anniversary of Tartini square.
