Lively Soča, valley of energy and festivals

Jumping enthusiasts love the emerald Soča River, one of the most beautiful Alpine waters in the world: Kanal ob Soči has just hosted the best bridge divers. Other great events will be held in the Soča valley in the next few months: a Food and Art Festival with the world-famous chef Ana Roš, and a Hiking Festival with guided tours and exhibitions where the Isonzo Front battles took place 100 years ago.

Dominated by the highest Alpine peaks and located at the entrance to the beautiful Triglav National Park with its Alpine Botanical Garden, the Soča Valley represents one of the pearls of our green, active and healthy country. September by the emerald Soča River is full of energy and festivals.

If you are a culinary enthusiast, find out more about the Food and Art Festival - Jestival, a unique Gastro-Art fusion with local chefs, craftsmen and artists all gathered in one place. The celebrity chef Ana Roš, honoured by the award of Talent of the Year by the prestigious association JRE, and featured in a Netflix cooking series, will have her cooking show in the streets of Kobarid, together with other famous cookery masters from the region. The food stands will offer a wide variety of local delicacies, including cheeses and Kobariški štrukelj - a traditional local dessert.
