Final round of Sejalec 2016 awards

The finalists of the open call for the Sejalec Award for Innovative Ideas in Tourism have been announced. Since 2004, the Sejalec awards have been presented to the most innovative tourist products and providers of tourist services at the national level. From 11 registered ideas this year, the expert committee has selected five finalists. The winner will be announced in October at the Day of Slovenian Tourism at Radenci.

The Slovenian Tourist Board has been acknowledging the great importance of innovations in tourism for many years. Innovative tourist ideas and services in Slovenia are recognised by the Sejalec award. This year’s Sejalec invitation yielded 11 innovations submitted through the portal of the Bank of Tourism Potentials of Slovenia. An expert jury selected five finalists following a multi-stage assessment procedure. This year’s finalists are:

* Glacial wellness at Hotel Špik in Kranjska Gora – springs of natural glacial water, from deep under the hotel, fill the swimming pools and inspire the glacial wellness programs.

* Loopy Slovenia – the first all-Slovenia Hop-on Hop-off bus. Two loops, to the west and to the east of Slovenia, presenting the beauty of our country.

* Escape Igloo® Enigmarium® - an innovative escape room concept, where the game is played in an igloo on the slopes of Kranjska Gora ski resort.

* The Tower Vinarium Lendava – a 53.5m high observation tower close to Lendava offers stunning panoramic views of the area.

* Water Park Radlje ob Dravi – the first natural swimming pool in Slovenia. The water circulates with the help of a small pump, and the pool is cleaned completely naturally using sand filters and plants.

Which is your favourite? The expert jury will announce the winner at the Days of Slovenian Tourism in October.
