At the end of August and the beginning of September this year, Indians will enjoy the premier of two films which were partly shot in Slovenia. The filming and production took place at Bled, Bohinj, Kranjska Gora, Piran and Celje at the beginning of the year.

The filming of the first movie, Mungaru Male 2 (“Before the Monsoon Rain”), took place in Slovenia in February 2016. It will premiere in India on 9th September. The film is the second part of the hit Mungaru Male from 2006, which broke all records in the Kannada film industry. It is part of Indian film production, with the production of 150 films per year. In addition to showing the films in India, they will also be shown around Europe, England, Australia and the United States. One of the main actors is Ganesh (Golden Star), who is a star of Kannada film productions and one of their best paid actors with numerous awards. You can take a look at some of the moments of the Indian production team in Slovenia here.

The second film, recorded this year in green, active and healthy Slovenia, is titled Naanu Matt Varalakshmi (“Varalakshmi and I”). The production team was in Slovenia during the May holidays, filming the first Indian motocross action film. The work involved a number of foreign professional motocross riders and around 3000 people. The motocross scenes were filmed at the racing track owned by CS Santosh, who was the first Indian competitor at the Dakar Rally. In Slovenia, the team filmed the romantic scenes of the film in the Gorenjska region, Celje, Ljubljana and Piran. Listen to the song, which was recorded and filmed in Slovenia, here.
