From wooden pool to wellness destination – Terme Olimia is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Its story began on 6th September 1966, when the local tourist organisation and Railway holding Ljubljana, based in Podčetrtek officially opened a wooden pool with thermal water.
At the opening, visitors had to pay 1 dinar (the currency of former Yugoslavia) to enter the wooden swimming pool. This was the beginning of the tourist and health resort’s story. After the first pool the construction of baths, catering, health and recreational facilities followed. In 1977 they started to build the first hotel, and later the outdoor swimming pools. A special milestone occurred in 2000, when the health resort was renamed Terme Olimia and other larger investments were made – the construction of the thermal aquapark Aqualuna, water slides, the pool with artificial waves in Slovenia, and wellness Ortenia, today known as the best and biggest sauna complex in green, active and healthy Slovenia.
Enjoy your stay at Terme Olimia in eastern Slovenia. Combine your wellness experience with outdoor activities – hiking and cycling in the countryside along the Sotla River, trying the excellent local cuisine and taking some time for yourself.
