New shepherds’ and vineyard facilities opened

Experience the fairy-tale of Velika Planina and Maribor in two newly-opened glamping resorts. Glamping Chateau Ramšak, close to Maribor, invites you to a hidden gem in one of the most beautiful and pristine parts of Slovenia, and with its magical and unique herdsmen’s tradition, unspoilt nature, traditional goods and breathtaking views, Velika Planina takes its place among the most beautiful pastures in Slovenia and abroad.

A new Eco-resort beneath Velika Planina, near Kamnik, less than an hour’s drive from Ljubljana in the heart of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, has opened its doors. It offers unique accommodation in ‘glamping’ houses shaped like shepherd’s huts. Velika Planina is among the rare well-preserved shepherds’ settlements in Europe, and shepherds still live and work there in the warmer part of the year. Spend the night in one of the 24 wooden glamping houses for 4 people which imitate the shepherd’s huts, or in 9 glamping tents for 2 people.

For a special glamping experience, head to Maribor for some vineyard glamping in the newly-opened Glamping Chateau Ramšak. The property stretches from rolling green hills to the glamping`s own vineyards. With its exceptional location in the middle of the Štajerska region, other vineyards, fine wines and divine cuisine are only a moment away. You can spend the night in a tree house or in a glamping safari tent. Enjoy a romantic getaway or see the wine press to make your experience of the Slovenia wine region truly memorable.
