Slovenia becomes the ITB Convention & Culture Partner 2017

Sponsored by the Slovenian Tourist Board, next year Slovenia will be the Convention & Culture Partner at ITB Berlin, the largest travel trade show, which provides a major opportunity for Slovenia to present itself as an attractive destination with an emphasis on sustainable development and the rich Slovenian culture.

Green, active and healthy Slovenia has been chosen as the Convention & Culture Partner of ITB Berlin 2017, the world`s largest tourism trade fair. The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) has declared the partnership an excellent opportunity for Slovenian tourism.

The agreement on the partnership at the fair, which will run between 8th and 12th March 2017, was signed last week by Slovenian and German officials at a meeting in Munich. The ITB Berlin fair attracts around 10,000 exhibitioners as well as 6,000 journalists every year, making it a major industrial as well as a media event.

Germany ranks as the 3rd biggest market for Slovenian tourism, with German visitors accounting for 12% of overnight stays. By July this year they had generated 5% more overnight stays than in the same period last year.
