Istrian Vespa Adventure and Olive Harvesting: A New Autumn Experience in Slovenian Istria

Istrian Vespa Adventure and Olive Harvesting: A New Autumn Experience in Slovenian Istria

A new boutique experience in the Portorož & Piran destination invites visitors to discover Slovenian Istria through Vespa riding, olive harvesting with locals, regional cuisine and the traditions of Istrian olive growing.

Created by Rolling Istra and the Gramona organic farm, the experience combines a scenic Vespa ride with hands-on work in an olive grove, local food and an introduction to one of Slovenian Istria’s most distinctive traditions.

The day begins in Piran, where participants set off by Vespa with a guide towards the green Seča peninsula. The route winds through the Istrian countryside and olive groves, with panoramic views towards the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park.

At the Gramona organic farm, a local host introduces participants to Istrian olive growing, explains the harvesting process and presents the tools used in the grove.

The highlight is the harvest itself. For around two and a half hours, participants work alongside locals, gaining first-hand insight into the knowledge, care and tradition behind quality olive oil.

Afterwards, they enjoy an Istrian lunch made with local ingredients, followed by a guided tasting of extra virgin olive oil. Each participant also receives a bottle of olive oil as a souvenir.

The group then returns to Piran by Vespa along scenic local roads. Designed for a maximum of six participants, Istrian Vespa Adventure and Olive Harvesting offers an intimate way to experience Slovenian Istria through its landscape, people and food.

The experience will be available only during the olive harvest season, from 1 to 31 October.
