FORT X Festival at Mokrice Castle Brings Together Electronic Music, Cultural Heritage and Tourism

FORT X Festival at Mokrice Castle Brings Together Electronic Music, Cultural Heritage and Tourism

Mokrice Castle will host the international electronic music festival FORT X for the first time on 5 September. Conceived as an internationally oriented destination festival, the event aims to introduce visitors from Slovenia and abroad not only to its music programme, but also to Slovenia’s cultural heritage, natural surroundings and distinctive venues. Mokrice Castle lies at the heart of the concept and forms an important part of the festival’s identity.

At the close of the summer festival season, FORT X will bring together electronic music, dance, architecture and nature in a historic setting. The line-up features internationally established electronic music artists from three continents, including Dixon, Âme, Maceo Plex, Nic Fanciulli, Butch, Jimi Jules, Aney F, Fiona Kraft, Mimi x Fy, Joe Quinn, Elena Mikac and Pablo Panda. The dance floors will open at 3 pm, with the programme continuing into Sunday morning.

From the outset, the festival has been conceived as an internationally oriented music and tourism event, designed to showcase Slovenia as a destination alongside the musical experience. The choice of Mokrice Castle is therefore no coincidence: the organisers aim to integrate its historic architecture and surrounding natural landscape into the overall festival experience.

Attracting international visitors is an important part of the concept. The castle’s proximity to the Croatian border makes it easily accessible from Zagreb and the wider region, while dedicated festival transfers will also operate from Ljubljana and Zagreb. Mokrice Castle can be reached conveniently from several international airports, with Zagreb Airport around 30 minutes away.

This summer, BSH Events also staged major electronic music events at the Pula Arena with Black Coffee, Buda Castle in Budapest with Carl Cox, and the ancient Cave Romane quarry with Carl Cox and Amelie Lens.

Fort X

The inaugural edition of FORT X therefore also represents an opportunity to promote Mokrice Castle and Slovenia internationally, while connecting contemporary cultural programming with heritage and the destination’s wider tourism offer.

More information about the programme, timetable, tickets, accommodation and transport is available on the official FORT X festival website.
