A Taste of Transylvania Comes to Slovenia at Restaurant Grič

For the occasion, chef Luka Košir and the Grič team welcomed Nicolae Craciuna from Cimbru Author in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Cimbru Author is a restaurant shaped by seasonality and constant change, with menus inspired by local producers, fermentation, fire and the distinctive flavours of Transylvania. Craciuna’s cooking is direct, expressive and firmly rooted in a strong culinary identity.

Both Grič and Cimbru Author are members of JRE, an association that encourages exchange between chefs, cultures and generations. This shared network helped bring the two culinary worlds together for a special evening in Slovenia.

The #kičnparti concept is deliberately informal and immersive. Guests are free to move around the restaurant, step into the kitchen, talk to the chefs and watch dishes being created in front of them. Plate by plate and conversation by conversation, the experience removes the usual boundaries between kitchen and dining room. It is precisely this closeness between chefs, guests and producers that gives #kičnparti its distinctive character: every bite comes with context, and every moment has a story.

Romanian winery Petro Vaselo provided the wine selection for the evening, presenting wines with a strong sense of place and character that complemented the food and atmosphere. Sommelier Alin Luta also introduced In Alis, a 100% Cadarcă from the Miniș-Măderat DOC wine region – a historic grape variety being rediscovered through a project dedicated to restoring its authentic identity.

The sixth #kičnparti once again showed that Grič is not interested in repeating a formula. Instead, each edition is created anew as a space for curiosity, openness and genuine encounters, where exceptional cuisine becomes a way of bringing people, cultures and ideas together.
