Boutique Villa Soča Opens in Čezsoča Near Bovec

Villa Soča, a boutique hotel in the village of Čezsoča near Bovec, has officially opened its doors, adding a high-quality accommodation option to the renowned Soča Valley, one of the country's leading destinations for outdoor adventures and nature-based holidays.

The boutique hotel offers 20 thoughtfully designed rooms, a restaurant showcasing local flavours, a wellness area, a multifunctional event hall and a small shop. Designed by the architectural studio Striplab, the building is constructed from sustainable cross-laminated timber (CLT), reflecting Slovenia's strong commitment to sustainable tourism and responsible architecture.

What makes Villa Soča particularly special is its story. The hotel stands where the village's former Zadružni dom (community centre) once served as the social heart of Čezsoča. Although the original building could not be preserved after being severely damaged in the 2004 earthquake, the new structure retains its characteristic proportions and even the historic "Zadružni dom" inscription, honouring the site's cultural significance while giving it a new purpose.

The owners, who have deep personal ties to the village, envisioned more than just a hotel.

Their goal is to preserve the building's role as a gathering place for both visitors and the local community. The project has also created seven new jobs for local residents, further strengthening its connection to the destination.

Located just minutes from Bovec, Villa Soča provides an excellent base for exploring the emerald waters of the Soča River, the spectacular peaks of the Julian Alps and the countless opportunities for hiking, cycling, water sports and other outdoor activities that have made the valley internationally renowned.

Villa Soča represents a €4.5 million investment that successfully blends contemporary hospitality with respect for local heritage. The project was developed by Miranda Komac Kopač and Janez Kopač, with support from the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility.
