Major Investments Propel Kope Towards Year-Round Tourism Growth

Kope is completing a five-year investment cycle worth nearly EUR 43 million, further strengthening its position as a premier destination for family, active, and year-round tourism. Following a record-breaking winter season, the destination expects summer tourism to become one of its key pillars of future growth.

Following a record-breaking winter season, the destination expects summer tourism to become one of its key pillars of future growth.

Investing in a Four-Season Future

With almost EUR 43 million invested over the past five years, Kope is entering a new phase of development. Supported by approximately EUR 12.5 million in non-repayable funding, the investments focus on family-friendly, active, and year-round tourism, with particular attention to the growing summer season.

New Hotel to Enhance the Visitor Experience

After welcoming a record-breaking nearly 117,000 skiers during the past winter season, Kope is preparing to unveil several new tourism products. Among the most significant additions is the new four-star Panorama Kope Hotel, which will feature swimming pools, wellness facilities, a fitness centre, and family-friendly amenities. Designed with sustainability and local character in mind, the hotel incorporates wood and stone sourced from the surrounding region.

Koroška’s First Five-Star Campsite

Another major milestone is the completion of the Divji Petelin Campsite, set to open this summer as the first five-star campsite in the Koroška region. Catering to both motorhome travellers and campers, the campsite will operate year-round. At the same time, Kope is expanding its wellness infrastructure, further enriching the visitor experience and helping to reduce seasonal fluctuations in demand.

Expanding International Reach

Kope is also steadily raising its international profile. Over the past year, the destination has been showcased at more than 30 tourism and business events across over ten countries and has established partnerships with more than 50 travel agencies. Summer marketing efforts are primarily focused on visitors from the Benelux countries, Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Italy.
