A Sensory Journey Through the Julian Alps: Content Creators Discover the Experiences of Slovenia’s Alpine World

The Slovenian Tourist Board, in partnership with the Julian Alps Community, organised a press trip titled A Sensory Journey Through the Julian Alps for international content creators and winners selected during World Travel Market London.

The three-day tour took place between 18 and 21 May 2026 and introduced participants to the Julian Alps through nature, local flavours, cultural heritage, and authentic encounters with local people.

Over the course of three days, the participants explored several alpine destinations, including Lake Bohinj, the Soča Valley, Bled, Radovljica, and Kranjska Gora. The programme was designed as a relaxed and immersive way of discovering Slovenia through the senses, combining breathtaking landscapes, gastronomy, local storytelling, and outdoor experiences.

Among the highlights were the experience “Back to the Roots – Returning to the Spiritual Past of the Soča Region” with Petra Rovšček, a visit to an eco-tourism farm in Čadrg, discovering Lake Bohinj, the herbal and culinary experience “Garden of Flavours” with Mateja Reš, and walks through Radovljica, Bled, and Gozd Martuljek, complemented by evening culinary experiences in selected restaurants.

Part of the journey was also completed by train, adding a sustainable dimension to the tour and offering participants a different perspective of the alpine landscape. The programme emphasised slower and more meaningful exploration of destinations — one in which visitors discover not only landmarks, but also the people, flavours, and stories behind them.

Through this personal experience, participants discovered Slovenia as a green, welcoming, and boutique destination offering endless inspiration for exploration, while actively sharing their experiences on social media throughout the tour.

With stours such as this, the Slovenian Tourist Board continues to strengthen Slovenia’s visibility on international markets and encourage the creation of authentic stories that position Slovenia as a destination for lovers of nature, gastronomy, culture, and high-quality experiences.
