What’s New in Slovenia’s Natural Health Resorts: Terme Krka

In this special feature series, we are highlighting updates in Slovenia’s natural health resorts, shaping Slovenia’s growing reputation as a leading European wellness and health tourism destination. Following our first feature on Terme Čatež, this edition turns to Terme Krka and its diverse collection of resorts: Talaso Strunjan, Terme Dolenjske Toplice, and Terme Šmarješke Toplice.

This spring, Terme Krka continues to develop programmes focused on improving quality of life, supporting holistic wellbeing, relaxation, and regeneration while responding to the natural rhythm of the season and the needs of today’s wellness traveller.

A key focus this season is on restoring balance both physical and mental. Across the resorts and wellness centres, guests can discover carefully designed programmes for stress relief, healthy weight management, immune system support, and energy restoration. The experiences combine guided outdoor activities, relaxation exercises, breathing techniques, and forest bathing, reflecting the growing demand for nature-based wellness experiences.

At Talaso Strunjan, the spotlight remains on thalasso programmes that harness the beneficial effects of seawater, marine mud, salt, and Mediterranean air to support natural regeneration of body and mind. The seaside location adds another dimension to Slovenia’s wellness offer, complementing the thermal traditions found elsewhere in the country.

Terme Krka’s wellbeing philosophy continues to emphasise a holistic and personalised approach, combining medical expertise, wellness services, movement, relaxation techniques, and close contact with nature. This spring, particular attention is placed on natural revitalisation, immune support, and calming the nervous system, encouraging guests to embrace slower, more conscious travel experiences.

The seasonal shift is also reflected in the culinary offer. Spring menus are built around light, balanced, and seasonal cuisine, closely connected with the resorts’ own garden produce. At the Castle Garden, gardeners carefully cultivate herbs and seasonal plants that enrich both gastronomy and wellness programmes. In the Vitarium Spa & Clinique at Terme Šmarješke Toplice, fresh herbs are also used for herbal drinks and teas, further connecting gastronomy, nature, and wellbeing into a holistic guest experience.

Rather than introducing entirely new concepts, Terme Krka is focusing on refining and deepening existing programmes with greater emphasis on personalised experiences, meaningful contact with nature, and content designed to help guests slow down, recharge, and develop healthier long-term lifestyle habits.

This article is part of an exciting partnership with The Association of Slovenian Natural Spas (SSNZ), of which Dolenjske TopliceŠmarješke Toplice and Talaso Strunjan proudly hold membership. Serving as a unified platform, the association brings together top 12 Slovenian spas, which focus on utilizating natural therapeutic elements such as thermal waters, potable mineral waters, sea water, salt pan mud and more. The association leads the way in pioneering New Age tourism while upholding traditional standards of preventive and curative healthcare.
