Lufthansa to Resume Munich–Ljubljana Flights in June

Lufthansa will reintroduce flights between Munich and Ljubljana on June 1, restoring an important air connection for Slovenia after a temporary suspension earlier this year.

The route will initially operate with 11 flights per week, slightly fewer than the previous 14 weekly services. Under the updated schedule, there will no longer be two daily flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

For the operation of the route, Lufthansa will also use aircraft operated together with crews from Swiss carrier Helvetic Airways.

The temporary suspension of the Munich–Ljubljana connection followed the early closure of Lufthansa Cityline, which had previously played a significant role in the airline’s Munich operations. The restructuring was accelerated by strike-related pressures and rising fuel costs.

In addition to Ljubljana, Lufthansa will also resume flights from Munich to Belgrade, Tivat and Rijeka in June, as the airline gradually normalizes operations across the region.

The return of the Munich–Ljubljana connection is an important development for Slovenian tourism and international accessibility, further strengthening Slovenia’s links with key European and global markets through one of Europe’s major aviation hubs.
