What’s New in Slovenia’s Natural Health Resorts: Terme Čatež

Slovenia’s natural health resorts are entering the new season with a combination of infrastructure upgrades, new wellness concepts, and expanded destination experiences. In the coming weeks, we will take a closer look at selected destinations, beginning with Terme Čatež.

As Slovenia’s largest thermal resort, Terme Čatež enters the new season with the opening of the outdoor Summer Thermal Riviera and a series of upgrades across wellness, accommodation, and leisure facilities. The developments reflect a clear focus on diversifying the offer and addressing different visitor segments – from families to adult wellness guests.

Hotel Terme (spa and relaxation)

The introduction of the new Grand Spa Terme marks a significant upgrade in the resort’s wellness offer. Designed primarily for guests aged 15+, the facility includes indoor and outdoor thermal-mineral pools, cooling baths, and massage pools, alongside a comprehensive sauna programme (Finnish, Turkish, salt, and herbal saunas). Additional features include heated waterbeds, an outdoor Kneipp path, and a modern fitness centre, positioning the hotel as a dedicated wellness retreat within the resort.

Hotel Toplice (family stays)

With direct access to both the indoor and outdoor Thermal Riviera, Hotel Toplice continues to strengthen its family-oriented positioning. The Toplice Family Inn concept – designed as Slovenia’s first fully themed family hotel – integrates play areas, creative spaces, and digital entertainment zones into the accommodation experience.

This hotel focuses on health, beauty, and relaxation programmes, combining its own pool complex with a spa and wellness centre offering massages, aromatherapy, and specialised treatments (including for couples and pregnant women). Guests also have access to an extensive sauna offer and the separate Wellness Riviera, which features a range of sauna types, cooling areas, and quieter relaxation zones.

The experience is complemented by Restaurant 1444, where Slovenian tradition meets contemporary cuisine in a refined historic setting.
