Slovenia Wins Silver in Japan for Feel Good Towns Video Series

Slovenia has earned international acclaim at the prestigious World Tourism Film Festival in Japan, receiving a Silver Award for its promotional video series Feel Good Towns. The recognition highlights the country’s strength in creative storytelling and reinforces its strategic focus on innovative, experience-driven tourism promotion.

Held at Aikouka Hall in Koka, this year’s edition of the festival selected the best projects from 1,300 entries across 11 countries. As one of Asia’s notable platforms for tourism film and video production, the festival celebrates originality, narrative strength, and the evolving role of audiovisual content in shaping travel inspiration.

The awarded Feel Good Towns series positions Slovenian cities as dynamic, culturally layered, and emotionally engaging destinations. Its distinctive concept lies in a personal, story-led approach – guiding viewers through each city from the perspective of acclaimed creatives who live and work there. This narrative lens brings forward authenticity, artistic expression, and the everyday vibrancy of urban Slovenia.

The series features four cities – Ljubljana, Maribor, Nova Gorica, and Ptuj – each representing a different facet of Slovenia’s cultural identity. Through the eyes of internationally recognised figures such as the band Joker Out, pianist Alex Gadjiev, choreographer Edward Clug, and actress Iva Krajnc Bagola, the videos reveal the rhythm, character, and creative pulse of each destination, inviting visitors to explore them in a more personal and engaging way.

For international media, the award underscores Slovenia’s ability to stand out in a highly competitive global landscape – not only through its natural beauty and sustainability credentials, but also through compelling, human-centred storytelling.

The Silver Award further strengthens Slovenia’s position as a modern, creative, and forward-thinking destination, demonstrating that fresh, narrative-driven approaches to tourism promotion can achieve strong global resonance.
