Slovenia Invites Visitors to Experience Rural Life During the Week of Tourist Farms

From 10 to 19 April 2026, Slovenia will once again open the doors of its countryside with the Week of Slovenian Tourist Farms – a nationwide celebration of authentic farm life, local flavours and traditional know-how.

Organised by the Association of Tourist Farms of Slovenia, the initiative invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with nature through immersive experiences on farms across the country.

At the heart of the event is a simple yet powerful idea: to offer a boutique holiday shaped by the rhythm of rural life, where hospitality, sustainability and heritage come together.

A Diverse Range of Experiences for Every Taste

Participating farms across Slovenia have prepared a wide range of activities designed to appeal to different interests and generations. Visitors can take part in:

  • culinary workshops and tastings of local products and drinks
  • guided farm tours and insights into daily rural life
  • traditional craft workshops preserving intangible heritage
  • outdoor experiences such as horseback riding, guided hikes and nature trails
  • lunches and dinners featuring authentic local flavours

Whether learning traditional skills, meeting farm animals or enjoying homemade cuisine, each experience reflects the authenticity and warmth of Slovenian countryside hospitality.

Boutique Countryside Experiences

The Week of Slovenian Tourist Farms goes beyond a typical visit – it offers curated activity packages that combine relaxation, gastronomy and hands-on experiences.

Guests are invited not just to visit, but to become part of the environment: to taste, learn, explore and engage with local traditions in a meaningful way. As the organisers emphasise, it is an invitation to “experience the pulse of the Slovenian countryside” and discover a boutique getaway in its purest form.

With its blend of nature, culture and gastronomy, the event offers an ideal opportunity for travellers seeking authentic, sustainable and experience-driven journeys.
