Feel-Good Towns: Through Ptuj with Actress Iva Krajnc Bagola

The Feel Good Towns series continues with a new video story, this time inviting viewers to discover Ptuj through the eyes of acclaimed actress Iva Krajnc Bagola. The story offers an intimate and authentic perspective on Slovenia’s oldest town – one that goes beyond landmarks to reveal a place shaped by memory, creativity, and a deep sense of belonging.

In the video, Iva Krajnc Bagola returns to her hometown, where her artistic journey first began. Through her narration, Ptuj unfolds as a living stage – where art moves through streets and squares, and where history is not confined to museums, but gently woven into everyday life. “When I return, I feel as though my body immediately relaxes and falls back into its natural rhythm,” she reflects, describing the town as a place that grounds her and reconnects her with herself.

The story highlights some of Ptuj’s most exciting locations, each tied to personal memories and the town’s cultural identity.

A special emphasis is placed on the Kurent, the iconic carnival figure that symbolises Ptuj’s spirit and is recognised as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. Through this and other traditions, the video captures the powerful yet subtle energy of a town where past and present coexist in harmony.

As part of the Feel Good Towns series, the video reinforces Slovenia’s positioning as a destination of authentic, creative, and human-centred experiences. By inviting renowned artists to share their personal connections to towns across the country, the series offers a unique way to experience Slovenia – through stories that are both deeply personal and universally relatable.
