New “Feel-Good Towns of Slovenia” Video Story: Maribor Through the Eyes of Edward Clug

The Slovenian Tourist Board has released a new video story spotlighting Maribor through the eyes of internationally acclaimed ballet dancer and choreographer Edward Clug.

Panoramic view of Maribor’s old town with red-roofed buildings along the Drava River, seen from a wooden pedestrian bridge, featuring the Feel-Good Towns of Slovenia video story with Edward Clug.

The charm of Slovenian towns and cities lies in their friendly, playful rhythm – shaped around people and everyday life. The latest video from the Feel-Good Towns of Slovenia series takes viewers to Maribor, Slovenia’s second-largest city, presented through Edward Clug’s personal and artistic perspective.

In Clug’s experience, Maribor is not merely a stage, but a place of inspiration. It is a city of warmth, authenticity, and creativity, where everyday moments blend seamlessly with art, and movement becomes a way of exploring space. Through subtle storytelling and visually striking scenes, the video reveals Maribor both on the surface and in depth – as a city that invites discovery, observation, and personal interpretation.

The story focuses on small yet meaningful moments: morning coffee, the flow of the river, Maribor’s bridges, the world’s oldest vine, cultural institutions, and the city’s vibrant pulse that encourages movement and creativity. Maribor emerges as an open, approachable and unpretentious city – one that offers space for expression and inspiration to everyone.

Maribor gave me space for magic. Feel it for yourself! Edward Clug

The video is part of the communication and promotional project Feel-Good Towns of Slovenia, launched by the Slovenian Tourist Board in 2024 with Slovenian tourism ambassadors Joker Out and their hometown of Ljubljana. The project presents Slovenian towns as attractive urban destinations, highlighting authentic experiences, creativity, and quality of life – for both residents and visitors – while promoting tourism that develops in harmony with local culture, rhythm, and everyday life.
