Ljubljana Welcomes a New Airline: Pegasus Airlines with a Connection to Istanbul

On Monday, 26 January 2026, Ljubljana Airport will officially welcome the arrival of a new airline, Pegasus Airlines. The carrier will connect Ljubljana with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport three times a week.

A Pegasus Airlines passenger aircraft parked on the airport apron, with several Pegasus planes lined up in the background under a clear sky.

The Turkish low-cost airline will operate regular flights between Ljubljana and Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport, further strengthening access to the Turkish metropolis and the wider region.

The new air link represents an important step towards improving Slovenia’s air connectivity and opens up new opportunities for both leisure and business travellers. Regular flights to one of Turkey’s major aviation hubs will also provide convenient onward connections to destinations across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

To mark the inaugural arrival of the Pegasus Airlines aircraft, a photo opportunity and media gathering will be organised at Ljubljana Airport. With this symbolic event, Slovenia will welcome another important partner in international air transport.
