Lidija Koren Recognised Among Europe’s Camping Hall of Fame Leaders

At the Gala 2026 event in Stuttgart, organised annually by PiNCAMP – an international platform and portal developed by ADAC in cooperation with ANWB and TCS, and regarded as one of the most influential organisations in European camping tourism – Lidija Koren, owner of Camp Koren and President of the Camping Association of Slovenia, received the prestigious PiNCAMP Hall of Fame award.

The PiNCAMP Awards and ADAC Camping Awards are among the most prestigious honours in the camping industry. Judged by a professional international jury, they recognise excellence in categories such as Innovation and Progress, Sustainability and Environmental Awareness, Rental Accommodation, Young Talent and Hall of Fame, and are considered a benchmark of quality and achievement within the camping sector.

The Hall of Fame is a symbolic lifetime achievement award, bestowed only on a select few individuals whose work has left a lasting and meaningful impact on the development of camping tourism. PiNCAMP, strongly supported by ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club), connects camping providers, promotes innovation and sustainability and enhances the visibility and quality of European campsites through its awards. The recognition awarded to Lidija Koren confirms her significant influence on the development of camping tourism and her respected role within the international professional community.

For many years, Lidija Koren was the owner of Camp Koren near Kobarid; today, the camp is managed by her son Jakob. Camp Koren offers accommodation in tents, caravans, motorhomes, eco chalets and glamping units, and was also the first campsite in Slovenia to receive the EU Ecolabel for environmentally friendly tourism.

Today, in her role as President of the Camping Association of Slovenia, Lidija Koren continues to advocate for the advancement of camping tourism, with a particular focus on improving service quality. She is also actively involved in EFCO, the European umbrella organisation for camping tourism, which brings together 23 national camping associations.
