Two Terroirs, One Philosophy: Ana Roš and Rodolfo Guzmán Cook Together at Hiša Franko

On 7 December 2025, Hiša Franko in Kobarid hosted a four-hands dinner that brought together Ana Roš, chef of Hiša Franko, and Rodolfo Guzmán, one of Latin America’s most influential culinary figures and the chef of the world-renowned Chilean restaurant Boragó. Supported by the Slovenian Tourist Board under the I FEEL SLOVENIA brand, the event united two seemingly distant yet philosophically closely aligned gastronomic landscapes: the Soča Valley and the wild terrains of Chile.

Rodolfo Guzmán travelled to Slovenia from Santiago de Chile with his team and, in collaboration with the Hiša Franko kitchen, co-created a unique tasting menu. Rooted in deep respect for nature, seasonality and local ingredients, the menu unfolded as a dialogue between two terroirs connected by shared values – sustainability, local identity and a contemporary interpretation of traditional knowledge. The dishes were paired with outstanding Slovenian wines, further accentuating the sense of place and the culinary narrative.

Regarded as a pioneer of modern Chilean cuisine and a leading advocate of sustainable fine dining, Rodolfo Guzmán owns a restaurant Boragó regularly featured on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list and currently ranking 23rd globally and 6th on the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list. This makes it the highest-ranked restaurant in Chile. His approach, centred on researching indigenous ingredients and working closely with local communities, closely mirrors the philosophy of Ana Roš, making their collaboration particularly authentic.

The event was supported by the Slovenian Tourist Board, with the I FEEL SLOVENIA brand serving as its unifying green thread. Hiša Franko ensured visible branding throughout the venue, while guests received gift bags containing the STB media kit, the Michelin Guide, Slovenian honey and other promotional materials. The brand was also actively integrated into digital communication through the social media channels of Hiša Franko, Ana Roš, Rodolfo Guzmán and Boragó, using the hashtag #ifeelsLOVEnia and tagging the @feelslovenia profile.

The dinner was attended by numerous journalists, content creators and influencers from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Spain, ensuring strong international media exposure. Among them were renowned culinary journalists and photographers who followed the event as part of a media study trip. This provided broader insight into Slovenian gastronomy, culture and lifestyle, further strengthening the perception of Slovenia as an authentic and sustainability-oriented destination.

The four-hands dinner at Hiša Franko thus represented far more than a gastronomic event — it stood as an example of successful international collaboration, strategic destination promotion and the continued strengthening of the I FEEL SLOVENIA brand on the global culinary map.
