Restaurant Dveri-Pax – A Sensory Journey from Vineyards to Table

As part of the partnership between the Michelin Guide and the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), the Michelin Guide has highlighted the exceptional story of the Dveri-Pax estate in Jarenina. It is a holistic experience that brings together more than eight centuries of winemaking tradition, contemporary cuisine and a deep connection to the local environment, offering visitors an authentic “from vineyards to table” experience.

Dveri-Pax is a historic wine estate in Jarenina with roots dating back to Roman times and the Benedictine monks who developed its vineyards from the 12th century onward. Revived in its modern form in 2002, the estate is now housed in a former monastic building from 1573, where winemaking, tasting spaces and a restaurant come together in a single, cohesive experience.

The restaurant, operating since 2019, offers multi-course tasting menus closely paired with wines from the estate’s own cellar, using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients to express the region’s terroir in a contemporary way. With 73 hectares of vineyards in the Podravje region, Dveri-Pax produces internationally recognised wines – particularly šipon (furmint), alongside sauvignon, chardonnay and sparkling wines – making it a standout example of how heritage, sustainability and modern gastronomy combine to position the region as a leading wine and culinary destination.
