Joker Out x I Feel Slovenia: A Love Letter to the Slovenian Language

The Slovenian Tourist Board and a world-renowned Slovenian band, Joker Out, have joined forces in a creative project that celebrates one of Slovenia’s greatest treasures – its language.

Inspired by the fact that international fans sing along to Joker Out’s Slovenian lyrics and even bring dictionaries to concerts, a unique Joker Out x I Feel Slovenia Dictionary has been created. More than just a keepsake, it’s a celebration of Slovenian identity – a mini dictionary introducing the Slovenian language, common phrases, translations of the band members’ favourite song lyrics, their beloved places across Slovenia and personal thoughts and dedications. The final pages are left blank, inviting fans to add their own words and memories.

Proud to sing in their mother tongue, Joker Out spread the sound and spirit of Slovenian far beyond the country’s borders, embodying the essence of cultural authenticity. The notebook will be part of the band’s exclusive, limited-edition merchandise – a true collector’s item for anyone who feels Slovenia through music: “We’re incredibly happy and proud to be connected with the Slovenian Tourist Board and the I Feel Slovenia brand – a partnership that has been growing and evolving for over a year. The result of this inspiring partnership is the English–Slovenian JOKER OUT X I FEEL SLOVENIA DICTIONARY, a project that goes far beyond traditional definitions and boundaries. This glossary, infused with our lyrics, favourite places and dishes, carries the dedication and personal imprint of the entire team. We believe we’ve created something truly unique – a product unlike anything Slovenia has ever presented before. Through this project, we hope to inspire our fans to learn Slovenian, connect with our culture in an intimate, distinctly ‘Joker Out’ way, and discover the beauty of our country for themselves.”

Reformation Day, celebrated on October 31, honours the cultural and linguistic legacy of the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. Slovenian reformers, most notably Primož Trubar – author of the first books written in Slovene – laid the foundations of Slovenian literacy and identity. Today, the day is celebrated as a tribute to language, education, and freedom of thought – values that continue to define modern Slovenia.

Don’t miss Feel Slovenia the Podcast, where Joker Out share their thoughts on the beauty and rhythm of the Slovenian language.
