Hiša Franko and Milka Join Les Grandes Tables du Monde

Two exceptional Slovenian restaurants, Hiša Franko and Milka, have joined the prestigious international association Les Grandes Tables du Monde, marking another milestone in Slovenia’s rising reputation as one of the world’s most exciting culinary destinations.

Founded in 1954, Les Grandes Tables du Monde unites the world’s most celebrated restaurants that share a commitment to exceptional gastronomy, hospitality and craftsmanship. This year’s ceremony in Athens welcomed 18 new members from 11 countries, bringing together 198 outstanding restaurants across 24 nations.

Representing Slovenia on the global culinary stage, Hiša Franko in Kobarid – led by world-renowned chef Ana Roš – and Milka in Kranjska Gora, under chef David Žefran, embody the spirit of contemporary Slovenian gastronomy: a deep respect for nature, seasonality and local ingredients, elevated through creativity and precision.

On the left, Ana Roš of Hiša Franko sits confidently in a mustard-yellow dress against a wooden backdrop. On the right, David Žefran of Milka Restaurant sits on light stone steps in his chef’s uniform and blue apron, smiling warmly.

With this recognition, Slovenia now proudly stands among the culinary greats, further strengthening its position as a destination where innovation meets authenticity and where the world’s finest dining experiences are deeply connected to place and tradition.
