The Renovated Notranjska Museum Opens Its Doors

The Renovated Notranjska Museum Opens Its Doors

This September, Postojna celebrated a landmark cultural event with the ceremonial reopening of the Notranjska Museum and the expanded permanent exhibition of the Karst Museum.

The Notranjska Museum in Postojna offers the most comprehensive presentation of the karst world in Europe. Visitors can discover cave animals under a microscope, touch a stalactite, discover that Slovenia is home to more than 15,000 caves, admire Ice Age fossils and explore the country’s largest castle treasure.

Interactive exhibits, educational programmes for schools and adults, children’s corners such as Caveman Junior, family games and thematic events like Eat the Museum or City of Karst make the museum an inspiring destination for visitors of all ages. Holding the Green Key sustainability label and ensuring full accessibility, the museum is committed to its vision of being a sustainable and inclusive cultural hub of the Karst.
