Slovenian Natural Health Resorts See Strong Growth in Summer 2025

In the 2025 summer season, Slovenia’s natural health resorts have once again reinforced their position as one of the country’s strongest tourism pillars. Results from January to July reveal not only steady growth, but also a clear alignment with the strategic vision of Slovenian tourism — “a little more and a lot better.”

In the first seven months of 2025, Slovenia’s natural health resorts hosted more than 425,000 guests and recorded 1,563,117 overnight staysup 4% compared to the same period last year. The number of foreign visitors climbed by 8.5%, with their overnight stays increasing by 9%, while domestic guests accounted for just over half of all stays (54%) and international visitors contributed the remaining 46%.

Austria continues to lead among foreign markets, contributing 153,754 overnight stays (21% share), followed by Italy (14%), Croatia (12%), Germany (9%), the Czech Republic (7%), the Netherlands (6%) and Serbia (4%). The remaining quarter of overnight stays came from a diverse mix of other European and overseas markets, creating a well-balanced visitor profile and strengthening the sector’s resilience to fluctuations in individual source markets.

Slovenian natural health resorts and spas are further consolidating their position as the region’s leading providers of holistic wellness and spa experiences. By blending centuries-old traditions with forward-looking innovations, they deliver on Slovenia’s tourism strategy goals – generating higher added value for guests, empowering employees and enriching local communities through sustainable, carefully planned development.

The Slovenian Natural Spas Association has reported on the performance of its 12 member resorts, which stand among the country’s leading and most respected wellness and spa destinations.
