Overnight Stays Up 8 % in First Half of 2025

Slovenia’s tourism sector recorded 6.9 million overnight stays and 2.8 million arrivals in the first six months of 2025 – an 8% increase over last year – driven largely by international visitors from Germany, Italy, and Austria.

Slovenia’s tourism industry enjoyed a strong start to 2025, with the first half of the year bringing an 8% rise in overnight stays compared to the same period in 2024. Accommodation providers recorded 2.8 million arrivals and almost 6.9 million overnight stays between January and June. Foreign visitors accounted for 71% of all overnight stays, with Germany leading the way, followed by Italy and Austria.

Domestic tourism also contributed to the growth, with Slovenian guests spending over 2 million nights in accommodation, a 1% increase year-on-year. Overnight stays by foreign guests rose even more sharply, up 11% to nearly 4.9 million.

The figures confirm Slovenia’s growing appeal among both domestic and international travellers, signalling a promising peak summer season ahead.
