NEW! Alpina Mediterranean Cycle Route

A new cross-border cycling route now links Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. Spanning 300 kilometres, it offers a scenic and sustainable way to explore the Alpine–Mediterranean region.

A new 300-kilometre cycling route connecting Italy, Slovenia and Croatia has been officially opened in Nova Gorica. The trail stretches from Pušja Vas in Italy through the Soča Valley, the Goriška region, the Karst and Brkini Hills, all the way to Opatija on the Croatian coast. Developed as part of the Inter Bike III cross-border project, the route also includes free bike transport services and newly built infrastructure. The route is divided into six stages and offers a rich combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage and local cuisine.

As part of the initiative, free shuttles with bike trailers will operate four times a day on Sundays between Ajdovščina and Cividale del Friuli. Between the Vipava Valley and Predmeja, services will run on Thursdays and Sundays. In the Brkini Hills, three new e-bike charging stations have been installed, and visitors can rent bikes at the Ilirska Bistrica Tourist Information Centre – and soon also in Špeter.
