Direct Train Between Zagreb, Ljubljana and Pula Returns

Direct Train Between Zagreb, Ljubljana and Pula Returns

On June 20, Slovenian Railways, in cooperation with Croatian Railways, reintroduced a direct train connection between Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Pula for the first time in over 30 years. The train will run every Friday toward Pula and return to Zagreb on Sundays, connecting 13 towns across Slovenia and Croatia.

This marks the first joint project between the two national railway companies and it also introduces Stadler’s modern FLIRT trains to Zagreb for the first time.

The direct train will stop at key stations including Dobova, Sevnica, Zidani Most, Postojna, Divača and Buzet. The new route significantly enhances accessibility, promotes sustainable mobility and enriches the regional tourism offer while providing a safe, modern and environmentally friendly alternative to road travel.

The inaugural journey was symbolically marked in Zagreb by the leadership of Slovenian and Croatian Railways and representatives of local authorities. Both railway companies expressed satisfaction with the partnership and announced plans for expanding international rail connections.
