24 Hours. 100 Routes. One Mission – Janja Garnbret Climbs for Charity

The world’s most successful female sport climber and ambassador of Slovenian tourism, Janja Garnbret, will host a sports and charity event this August – the 24‑Hour Climbing Marathon. The Slovenian Tourist Board is also taking part in this unique sporting event.

The charity event, taking place from 22 to 23 August 2025 at the Slovenska Bistrica Climbing Centre, will bring together the climbing community, sports enthusiasts and the wider public with the aim of raising funds for the “Botrstvo v športu (Godfather in Sports)” programme, which supports young athletes from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

Janja Garnbret, who puts Slovenia on the world map with her outstanding achievements and inspires sports and tourism lovers across the globe, will join participants on the wall, aiming to climb as many as 100 routes in a single day – a challenge in its own right.

“I wanted to create something that connects everyone who loves climbing – as well as those who believe that with small steps we can open the door to a great future for someone,” says Janja Garnbret.

The event goes beyond sport. With her story and active involvement, Janja Garnbret inspires the world to look towards Slovenia – a country where green peaks, natural climbing areas and people with big hearts are part of its very identity. Through such partnerships, the Slovenian Tourist Board strengthens Slovenia’s profile as an exceptional sports and tourism destination that promotes responsible behaviour, an active lifestyle, and community support.

Participation in this project is part of the STB’s broader efforts, together with the ambassadors of Slovenian tourism, to build a platform of inspiration, sustainable practices, unique experiences and authentic stories that go beyond standard promotion.

This event will be an outstanding opportunity for Slovenia to once again showcase its sporting and tourism excellence – both at home and on the world stage.
