Slovenian Tourist Board to Host Special Media Event at Osaka Expo on World Bee Day

As part of its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, the Slovenian Tourist Board will host a special media event on 20 May, coinciding with World Bee Day – a global initiative launched by Slovenia to recognize the essential role of bees and other pollinators in supporting ecosystems and agriculture.

The event will highlight Slovenia’s beekeeping heritage, its leadership in sustainability and its distinctive approach to green, nature-based tourism. Journalists and invited guests will experience a curated presentation of Slovenian culture, gastronomy and innovative tourism products inspired by the harmony between people and nature.

World Bee Day, officially proclaimed by the United Nations following Slovenia’s initiative, is held on the birthday of Anton Janša, a Slovenian pioneer of modern beekeeping. It serves to raise global awareness of the threats facing bees and the importance of safeguarding their habitats.
