Tadej Pogačar to Host One-of-a-Kind Cycling Event in Slovenia

On 12 October, Tadej Pogačar is set to host the exclusive cycling challenge that will feature a mass start in Komenda and a race to the top of his favourite climb, Krvavec.

Slovenian cycling icon and the ambassador of Slovenian tourism, Tadej Pogačar, is set to host a groundbreaking cycling event like no other at the end of the 2025 season. The S Klanca v klanc (From Hill to Hill) – POGI CHALLENGE, taking place on October 12, is a one-of-a-kind challenge designed not just as a competition, but as a heartfelt tribute to his fans.

The event, supported by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), will feature a mass start in Komenda and a finish at Krvavec, one of Pogačar's most cherished climbs. The event’s unique twist? The 1,189 participants will race against Pogačar himself, with the goal of reaching the top of Krvavec before him. This number symbolizes the altitude meters between Komenda and the summit of Krvavec, where Pogačar first made history with his victory in 2009.

Known for his love of climbs and challenges, Pogačar is using this event to spotlight Slovenia’s stunning cycling landscapes and vibrant sports community. The finish line will feature a lively celebration, including a musical programme, fan zone, athlete meet-and-greets and a charity auction of Pogačar’s gear, with proceeds benefiting the Tadej Pogačar Foundation.

"I’m really looking forward to this event, especially because it will be unique and take place in my home environment, on my favourite climb in the world. I don’t think there are many events like this. I know it will be a success, and I hope it becomes a tradition." says Pogačar.

Registration opens on May 12 and will be available until all 1,189 spots are filled.
