GO! 2025 in Munich: Showcasing Slovenia’s Cultural Brilliance

Slovenian tourism, with a spotlight on the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica – Gorica, captivated audiences at a prestigious event in Munich. Held alongside Bavaria’s largest tourism fair, f.re.e, the gathering welcomed over 120 guests, including top media representatives, tour operators and travel agents.

The exclusive evening unfolded at the elegant Reitschule restaurant in Munich’s trendy Schwabing district. Organized by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) and the General Consulate of the Republic of Slovenia in Munich, together with GO! 2025 representatives and partners, the event spotlighted Slovenia as a boutique destination for cultural experiences. With its rich programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 and cross-border appeal, Germany—especially Bavaria—remains a key market showing strong interest.

The celebration of culture, cuisine and creativity

Guests indulged in exquisite dishes prepared by Michelin-starred chef Uroš Fakuč from Nova Gorica, paired with premium wines from Klet Brda. The evening was further enriched by stunning performances from the acclaimed MN Dance Company, fresh from their show-stopping appearance at the GO! 2025 opening and a soulful performance by Tajda Krajnc, assistant professor of zither at the Munich University of Music and Theatre.

The event drew prominent media outlets, including Elle, Conde Nast Germany, Icon Traveller, Radio Reise, Homes & Gardens, Bentley Clubmagazin and Purpose Magazin, all eager to explore the GO! 2025 programme.

Mija Lorbek, director of the GO! 2025 Institute, underscored the significance of cultural tourism and cross-border connections: “Culture transcends borders, connecting diverse areas, from gastronomy to tourism and sports. Bavaria is incredibly important to us—alongside Italy, it remains a key market. We couldn’t imagine a better invitation to our borderless region than the breathtaking performance of the MN Dance Company and the culinary mastery of Uroš Fakuč.”

Showcasing Slovenian heritage

As part of the event, an exhibition on the history and development of Lipica was unveiled in the restaurant’s entrance area, perfectly complementing the venue’s heritage and highlighting Slovenia’s rich cultural story.
