Michelin Guide Slovenia: From Bohinj to Kranjska Gora – Two Culinary Gems in the Heart of Triglav National Park

The prestigious Michelin Guide has introduced two exciting new additions to its 2024 Slovenia edition: the restaurant at Majerca Boutique Hotel in Stara Fužina and the restaurant at Triangel Boutique Hotel in Martuljek. This article, written by Michelin journalist Sarah Scaparone, was created as part of the partnership between the Slovenian Tourist Board and Michelin.

Discover the unique culinary offer of the Majerca and Triangel restaurants and experience the flavours that have earned them a place in the 2024 Michelin Guide Slovenia.

Majerca Boutique Hotel – Stara Fužina

Nestled in Stara Fužina in Bohinj, the Majerca Boutique Hotel blends modern Slovenian design with natural materials, particularly wood, creating a warm yet contemporary atmosphere. Overlooking the stunning Bohinj Lake, framed by the majestic Julian Alps, the hotel offers an idyllic setting for a refined culinary experience. Chef Timi Rožič, who took the helm in 2022, has deep roots in the region—he grew up nearby and once played in this very building when it was still a leather factory.

Triangel Boutique Hotel – Martuljek

On the opposite side of Triglav National Park, in the Martuljek Forest near Kranjska Gora, lies the Triangel Boutique Hotel. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Martuljek Mountains, this modern retreat underwent a complete renovation three years ago, evolving into a sophisticated haven for travellers and food lovers alike. Chef Jon Zupan, a local talent, leads the restaurant with a philosophy rooted in regional ingredients and culinary traditions, skillfully balancing local authenticity with the expectations of international guests.
