Royal Return: Vila Muhr Reopens Its Doors

Stories don’t have beginnings… only steps that lead through time. Adolf Muhr, a man with a vision, recognized the potential of this place and built a villa that, over the centuries, has become a precious refuge for nobility. Its strategic location and timeless beauty have placed the villa among the world’s most recognized destinations.

In 1934, a new royal story began to unfold in front of Vila Muhr in Bohinj. The engagement of Princess Marina and Prince George put this magical place on the map of elite society, drawing attention and significantly contributing to the recognition of this beautiful destination. Today, 90 years later, Vila Muhr has reopened its doors with a special promise: it offers every guest an unforgettable royal experience that combines rich history, sophisticated elegance and top-tier comfort. In the four carefully designed suites, furnished with unique details, guests can discover the charm and refinement of this unique space.

Vila Muhr is the result of a partnership with the Ofis architectural bureau, which drew inspiration from historical photographs and designed the image of a wooden hunting lodge standing on a stone pedestal. The façade, made of burnt wood, reflects an ecological approach to decarbonization and ensures lasting protection without the use of chemicals.

The villa features an à la carte restaurant led by renowned chef Davor Arnautović, who focuses on innovative cuisine combined with local ingredients and international influences. Their offering promises an exceptional culinary experience that will satisfy even the most demanding palates.

In addition, the villa provides space for various events, bathed in natural daylight and offering stunning views of the picturesque surroundings of Bohinj. Their efforts to ensure guests have an unforgettable experience are reflected in every detail, from the architecture to the choice of decor.

The reopening of Vila Muhr was exclusively covered by The Times UK, further emphasizing its importance in the world of luxury tourism. Their interest in the story of Vila Muhr confirms that it was the engagement of Princess Marina and Prince George that placed both the villa and the destination on the global map.

Vila Muhr promises a true royal experience that respects the rich history and heritage of both the property and the destination.
