Pinterest continues to grow as a significant digital platform, achieving 537 million monthly active users globally in 2024. Its audience skews heavily toward Generation Z, who account for 42% of users and utilize Pinterest as a source of inspiration, including travel planning. Known for their engagement, Pinterest users actively seek ideas and interact with content, making it an invaluable tool for tourism promotion.

In 2024, new trends such as sustainable travel, including train journeys, gained traction on Pinterest, aligning with global preferences for eco-conscious travel. Additionally, themes like "Castlecore", inspired by medieval aesthetics, have driven interest in historic destinations and castles—a trend Slovenia embraces with its numerous picturesque castles and heritage sites.

  • 72% are female.
