This year, News from Slovenia, in partnership with the Association of Slovenian Historical Towns, highlighted Slovenia's 22 cultural gems, each featured during its most significant period. Rich in history and charm, these towns offer captivating stories that celebrate Slovenia’s vibrant heritage.

This holiday season, we celebrate an enriching partnership with the Association of Slovenian Historical Towns, showcasing captivating stories from Slovenia’s 22 historical gems. Each town, a treasure trove of culture, history and charm, offers unique stories that transport visitors through time. Each of these towns was spotlighted during a period most significant to their heritage – such as Ptuj during the vibrant carnival season, Kamnik for the Days of National Costumes and Heritage, and Celje around Women's Day in honour of Alma Karlin.

1. Brežice
