Let's Celebrate The Traditional Slovenian Breakfast

Now in its 14th edition, this project, launched by the Slovenian Beekeepers' Association in 2011, has become a tradition in Slovenian schools and kindergartens. This year, the focus shifts from a specific food item to the broader theme of including locally produced and processed foods in our diets, promoting self-sufficiency, and supporting short supply chains. The National Institute of Public Health is using the occasion to highlight both the opportunities and challenges that educational institutions face in achieving these objectives.

The traditional ingredients of a Slovenian breakfast are bread, butter, milk, honey and local fruit like apples.
