November Gourmet Ljubljana 2024

From 2 to 30 November 2024, Ljubljana hosts the 8th November Gourmet Ljubljana festival, a month-long celebration filled with tastings, cooking classes, workshops and special autumn menus across the capital. Beer, wine and coffee lovers can look forward to curated experiences and a special programme will promote hospitality careers among young people.

Culinary Experiences and Workshops

Festival-goers can embark on a flavorful journey through Ljubljana’s central market, Yummy Market Walk, sampling delicacies from across Slovenia. Highlights include The Ljubljana Beer Experience, as well as a visit to the Rog Centre, where guests can explore the fascinating history of this creative hub and former factory while preparing their own brunch using local ingredients.

Wine, Beer, Spirits and Coffee

Wine lovers can taste a diverse selection at The Ljubljana Wine Route, The Slovenian Wine Festival and The Pubec Young Wine Festival. Coffee enthusiasts can head to The Slovenia Coffee Expo to witness top baristas in action and join interactive workshops. Broken Bones Distillery will offer tastings of its internationally acclaimed spirits, while craft beer fans can enjoy a guided tasting with a brewmaster on a scenic Ljubljanica River boat ride or pair brews with snacks at Ljubljana’s popular Lajbah and Maister pubs.

Culinary Workshops and Courses

Aspiring chefs can elevate their skills through a variety of cooking workshops led by top culinary teams. Michelin-starred Grič will host sessions on preparing fish, meat and offal; Gaudi&Naan will offer guidance on crafting festive vegan dishes; and BIC Ljubljana will provide hands-on training in quick snacks, mini desserts, and holiday biscuits. For those interested in a wider range, Jezeršek will offer classes on sushi, steaks, mono-portioned desserts and an array of festive cakes and pies.

An eco-market at the Breg area will showcase quality local products, with activities for the youngest. Many restaurants and cafés will serve special autumn dishes and St. Martin’s Day-inspired meals and drinks.

Behind the Scenes at Jezeršek Catering

Catering students can dive into the world of high-end event service at Jezeršek Catering in Medvode. They’ll explore the operations of professional kitchens, event logistics and even the mobile kitchen used by Bahrain Victorious cycling team, while gaining hands-on experience in setting up a small event through interactive stations.
