Postojna Cave Is Getting Ready for the Biggest Christmas Spectacle

The Living Nativity in Postojna Cave with a 34-year tradition is the biggest festive-season event. The Christmas story staged along the entire five-kilometre-long tour route features musical, instrumental and dance performances, video projections and more than 100 performers.

Taking place between 25 and 30 December 2025, the six-day event is a huge logistical undertaking and the preparations for this magnificent event inside Postojna Cave are already well under way. 

Lavish costumes are being sewn, masks and hairstyles are being created, there are auditions for the performers and experts are working on the lighting, sound effects, surprises for guests and thousands of other little details that need to be perfect for such a magnificent spectacle.

World-renowned names 

Every year, over 100 talented performers come together to create this breathtaking spectacle, showcasing exceptional vocalists whose stunning voices resonate throughout the event. This year’s Living Nativity Scenes in Postojna Cave will be even bigger and more magnificent, as the enviably acoustic subterranean halls of Postojna Cave will be filled with the voices of some world-renowned vocalists:  Ivan Defabiani from Italy, Sumika Kanazawa all the way from Japan and Anea Mercedes Anžlovar from Slovenia.

The presale of the tickets for Slovenia’s biggest Christmas spectacle has already started and is available until 5 November.
