World Media Spotlight: What Else Can Slovenia Achieve?

Slovenian cycling champions Roglič and Pogačar have consistently impressed in every race this year, elevating Slovenia into the elite ranks of countries that have won cycling's three biggest races in a single year: Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and La Vuelta. These prestigious victories, along with strong performances in one-day classics, created an electric atmosphere leading up to the World Championships in Switzerland.

Cycling up to date noted before the Championships that Slovenia has solidified its status as a cycling superpower in recent years. However, the quest for the rainbow jersey is a unique story. Following the Championships, the spotlight remained on Slovenia, with Pogačar’s exceptional victory bolstered by a strong performance from his eight-member team. The BBC highlighted that Pogačar's triumph made him only the third cyclist in history to secure the Triple Crown—Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and the World Championship title—all in one year.
