As one of the most important occasions promoting Slovenia as an inclusive and welcoming destination, the event saw the presentation of the Pink Dragon Award, recognizing exceptional individuals, organizations, and companies whose efforts foster inclusivity, respect for diversity, and elevate Slovenia’s reputation as an LGBTQ+ friendly destination. This year, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) was honoured with the Pink Dragon Award for its significant contributions to promoting diversity and inclusiveness in tourism. The award was accepted by STB's Director, Maja Pak Olaj.

The Dragon’s Ball, launched in 2014 by Mattej Valenčič and Matej Knific, has become one of the most influential events promoting Slovenia as a top LGBTQ+ tourism destination. Over the past decade, it has established itself as a premier cultural, social and gastronomic gathering, drawing international attention and high-profile guests.

The event highlights Slovenia’s appeal as a boutique, inclusive, and innovative destination. Supported by the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) and Tourism Ljubljana, it showcases the country's commitment to diversity and sustainability. This year’s gala, held at Ljubljana’s City Hall, featured the best of Slovenia’s cultural and culinary offerings, with the Pink Dragon Award honouring those contributing to inclusivity. The STB received the award for its efforts in creating a welcoming and safe environment for all visitors.

Maja Pak Olaj, Director of the STB, accepted the award, stating: "This honour acknowledges our efforts to create a welcoming destination where all visitors feel safe, accepted and valued. Slovenia, with its rich cultural and natural heritage, embraces diversity, making us even more attractive as a destination. We recognize that openness and safety are priorities for today’s tourists, and we will continue to develop sustainable, inclusive tourism offer where everyone can find their place."
