The Olympic Games and the Slovenia House project present an exceptional opportunity to strengthen international relationships and promote I Feel Slovenia national brand to a global audience and France. Located in La Villette Park, the Slovenia House serves as a hub for showcasing Slovenia during the Paris Olympic Games. In line with this, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) is organizing two business events.

Earlier this week, the STB conducted a workshop on Slovenian tourism, which saw participation from 30 French travel agents and tour operators. To cap off the Olympics, on Saturday, August 10, the STB will host a day for the French media at the Slovenia House.

The STB anticipates 25 French media representatives for this two-part event to attend. The first segment will focus on emphasizing Slovenia's top tourism offer and culinary excellence. Renowned chef Ana Roš, together with the STB, will hold a top culinary experience that underscores Slovenia as a top destination for active holidays and gourmet cuisine. Among the participants will also be a journalist from the prestigious French media outlet Le Figaro, who will provide coverage of the event.

Ana Roš shared her great pride in being part of this event: "For me, presenting my work at the Slovenia House during the Olympic Games in Paris is like climbing Mount Olympus twice. Firstly, because I used to be a top athlete myself and I deeply appreciate all athletes. I believe that sport is as important in life as food, as it has given me the discipline necessary to achieve top results. Secondly, because the Olympic Games are in France, the cradle of world gastronomy. I am happy to join Slovenian athletes in Paris in August to celebrate through my food their successes and hard work. The menu is an explosion of flavours and sources from the stunning and pristine nature of the Soča valley."

In the second part of the event, the Slovenian Tourist Board will provide an in-depth presentation of their new promotional campaign, "It's All in Our Nature." Additionally, journalists may have the opportunity to meet Janja Garnbret, the world’s top climber and ambassador of Slovenian tourism.

France is one of the key market for Slovenian tourism, ranking 9th among foreign markets in terms of overnight stays last year. The STB is strengthening its promotional and communication activities at the Paris Olympics to amplify its engagement in France. Remarkably, last year saw a 29% increase in overnight stays by French visitors compared to 2019, our most successful year so far. This positive trend has continued into the first half of this year, with a 28% increase. French tourists are particularly captivated by Slovenia's outdoor activities, top gastronomy and rich cultural experiences.
