Direct Flights from Ljubljana to Madrid Now Available with Iberia

Starting July 29, 2024, Iberia is launching direct flights from Ljubljana Airport to Madrid, operating twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays until September 5, 2024. This new route offers a direct connection to Spain's capital and provides easy access to Madrid Barajas Airport's extensive network of flights to Central and South America. The first flight was celebrated with a water salute and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by key figures including Eduard Martínez, Captain of Iberia, and Robert Latin, acting Director General of the Directorate for Air and Maritime Transport in Slovenia.

The flights will be serviced by Iberia Regional Air Nostrum using the latest Canadair Regional Jet 1000 aircraft, which seats 100 passengers. Departures are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Mondays and 12:00 p.m. on Thursdays, with a flight time of approximately 2.5 hours.

The new connection enhances Ljubljana Airport's network and supports Slovenia’s broader air connectivity goals, including improved access to Latin America. This service, partially funded by Slovenian government subsidies, marks an important step in expanding Slovenia’s aviation links.
