Action Thriller "The Union," Filmed in Piran, Premieres on Netflix

"The Union", starring Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry, debuts on Netflix on August 16. Filmed in the picturesque coastal town of Piran during autumn 2022, this action thriller transformed Slovenia's seaside gem into a dynamic movie set, drawing some of Hollywood's brightest stars to its historic streets.

The production of "The Union" was supported by the Slovenian Film Centre, which actively promotes Slovenia as a prime filming location. Thanks to the Centre’s initiatives, including a cash reimbursement measure covering 25% of eligible production costs, Slovenia has become an attractive destination for international filmmakers.

The eagerly anticipated trailer for "The Union" has finally dropped, showcasing the adrenaline-pumping scenes shot in Piran. Last autumn, the town buzzed with excitement as Halle Berry, Mark Wahlberg and their crew filmed intense action sequences amidst its scenic backdrop.

Marking the largest foreign film project ever undertaken in Slovenia, "The Union" allocated over €10 million for its Slovenian segments alone, according to Nataša Bučar, director of the Slovenian Film Centre.
